Llangollen Railway plc

Llangollen Railway plc
Part of the Ruabon to Barmouth line, our Railway closed to passenger traffic in 1965, and to goods in 1968. The track and signalling was removed the following month, and for seven years the buildings and trackbed were left at the mercy of nature. A group of enthusiastic volunteers started the rebirth of the line with an open day in September 1975, with 60 feet of track; since then the line has rarely looked back.

Royal International Pavilion

Back in the early 1990's the tradition of erecting a 6,000 seater canvas pavilion for each Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod was coming to an end. An exciting new permanent structure was being built, with the express brief of retaining a 'tent' style appearance that could also be utilised as a venue throughout the year.
