Caer Drewyn Hillfort - Iron Age 700BC - 50AD

Caer Drewyn, above Corwen, is one of the best preserved Iron Age hillforts in Wales.

The several hillforts in the area provide a spectacular feature of the historic landscape in the Clwydian Range and Llantysilio mountains.

Castell Dinas Brân, which overlooks Llangollen, was built on the site of an Iron Age Hillfort.

There is not much evidence of Roman activity in the Vale of Llangollen, apart from a chance find of a small hoard of second century coins and a Roman broach.
