The Bridge End Hotel

The Bridge End Hotel is exactly that - a hotel at the end of Llangollen Bridge!

That said, there’s a great difference in the ages of the two structures, with the hotel probably dating from the time of the railway arriving in the town in the 1860s, making it some 500 years younger than its near neighbour!

As a probable railway hotel it would have served visitors to the town from the very near railway station, now home to the heritage Llangollen Railway.

Its position also affords superb views up the main shopping street of the town, Castle Street which leads away from the opposite side of the bridge. This wonderful black and white building has become a landmark of its own over recent years, especially since the International Eisteddfod began in 1947.

Thanks to the festival, and in particular the Parade of Nations which winds its way through the town on the opening day, the Bridge End Hotel has become one of the most photographed buildings in Wales!

This family run hotel prides itself on friendly service and exceptional value, with its location and well appointed rooms making it ideal for that weekend break with the family or a place to stay while on business.

The Bridge End bar is one of the best in the town and attracts visitors from all over the world. It is also a great gathering spot for motorcyclists whose impressive machines can be regularly seen parked outside the hotel.

The food at the Bridge End has also gained an excellent reputation down the years for variety and quality. A quick glance at the menu will also show what good value it is - all this and a stunning view to boot!

The Bridge End is certainly one of the landmarks of Llangollen and the ideal place to base yourself and explore what the area has to offer.
